Who We Are

The Friends of the Barnes Museum, a registered 501 (c)3 is to increase awareness of the importance of the Museum as a cultural and education asset to the Town of Southington, to increase use of the Museum, to fundraise for improvements to the building and grounds, and to establish a lasting endowment to now and forever support local history at the Barnes Museum.

What We Do

Friends of the Barnes Museum volunteer at fundraisers and events sponsored by both the Friends of the Barnes Museum and the Barnes Museum. They also get to assist in planning events and fundraisers to drive community engagement and a passion for history, especially Southington's.

2019 Gazebo Restoration

Picture
Thanks to your generosity, the Friends of the Barnes Museum have restored the property's iconic gazebo.  The gazebo is one of the centerpieces to the Bradley & Leila Barnes Victorian Gardens and a favorite photo spot for wedding parties, proms and professional photos.

Thank you for your donations and stay tuned for news on our upcoming project!
